Announcing LALA x The Wolf of Wall Street Drop 001: The Hustle

If you’ve been following us since our launch, you know that we’ve teamed up with this iconic, critically-acclaimed film, which exposed the true-to-life excess and greed of the financial world. Viewing it through a filmgoer’s lens, The Wolf of Wall Street is a searing commentary on the allure of wealth (albeit ill-gotten) and the moral compromises that often accompany it.
What if you could engage with and participate in the film, in a way that will make you feel like you’re part of the whole experience? Now for the first time ever, fans can own a piece of the revenue stream from this film’s IP infringement takedowns.
For LALA’s inaugural digital collection, we’ve collaborated with Peruvian artist Paolo Torres, known for his pop-surreal collage art and collaborations with global brands like Fendi. Paolo’s unique vision captures the early days of Jordan Belfort, the film’s main character, before his dramatic transformation that culminates in his rise to become the infamous ‘wolf’ of Wall Street.
Our journey into the wild world of this film begins with “The Hustle,” our theme for this first collection. As Belfort gains a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the industry, he is forced to make difficult choices between his ethical principles and his desire for success. Torres’ three unique artworks take us from Jordan’s early naïveté as he arrives in New York City, to his rapid rise among the ranks to power and riches.
Artist Paolo Torres shares with us:
“This collection is for the first part of the movie, before Jordan was The Wolf of Wall Street, but I was inspired by the whole movie and how chaotic and funny it was. The three artworks represent the transition from not knowing all the craziness inside the trading business to creating his own company. In each art piece, we see the growth of his character, accompanied by others that help shape his story and set the tone for the movie.”
Drop 1 will feature three tiers for fans to choose from: Director’s Cut, Limited Edition, and General Release.
We’ll be sharing more soon on the specifics for each tier in terms of pricing, scarcity, and perks. Overall, each collectible will offer:
