Unhealthy Learning Habits We Keep After School

And why you need to finally leave them behind

I was always ready to do pretty much anything in school to get alright grades. I never tried to get the best grades but I always wanted to be around average, if possible right above.

While I never felt into cheating, I tried pretty much everything else. It worked for school but it also took a lot of effort to get rid of some of the worst learning habits I had.

Luckily for me, I had fallen in love with learning languages so I actively looked for ways to rid myself of them. Unfortunately, most people never take this time and let these awful habits cement once and for all.

The first step is to notice them. Here’s my story of efforts and sometimes lucky improvement on that journey.

There’ll always be another last minute

The most common habit of students has always been cramming. Who hasn’t tried the good ol’ I’ll spend the entire night on it because I didn’t do crap before technique?

It was my favorite study method for subjects I hated most— biology, physics, and history. I’d procrastinate for weeks until the day before the exam and then cram the hell out of them to get just enough. I hated every moment of it but it…
