A century ago
You existed
The days were tough
but you persisted
Along with our ancestors living that year
doing what they could to give themselves cheer
For better days
and to believe
In the year 1923
when the U.S went
from President Warren G. Harding
to Cavin Coolidge
Jazz music was king
Babe Ruth ruled the baseball scene
A few years removed from World War I
Trying to move on from the machine guns
If only you could see how much the world has changed
since you existed 100 years ago
If would blow your mind
you wouldn’t want to let go
You would rather remain in your year
Where things make more sense
then 100 years into the future

Thanks for reading!
