I wasn’t sure if I should message Heath.
We’d been on the South Coast in KwaZulu Natal, for exactly two weeks and I felt a little bored.
I was also a little unsure that a reunion with Heath would be any good, considering we hadn’t seen or heard of each other since many many moons back through a visit with his cousin, Sadie, one of my best friends.
I had an argument that morning with Mom about using their car. She said if something happened to the car if there was an accident, they’d have nothing. Ouch! No consideration for Jenny or me being involved. She couldn’t put me on the insurance either or apparently wasn’t allowed to.
I finally messaged him whilst lying on the bed in the stinkingly hot and humid afternoon, and he replied almost immediately, which was a sweet surprise!
He said definitely, we should catch up. After his week with his sons in the mountains. Yes! I was excited, I stalked his Facebook and wondered when he got divorced. Then stared at the uncanny resemblance of his grown boys and reminisced on all the trouble he was involved in, during our high school days. Ah, our adolescence was actually awesome.
