Acquiescence
As the evening shadows lengthen
It may be in the form of an agreement
Compliance in the way we get things done
More probably ways when we’re together
We acquiesce enjoy and have some fun.
Arrangements happen with cooperation
We appreciate each other’s point of view
We smoothly acquiesce for what is the best
And embrace and enjoy everything we do.
The simple thing in life is our elixir
Raw nature captivates our heart's desire
In the skies, we watch the birds and weather
Little can quench our raging fire.
The different hues upon the ocean
The shadows at sunset in the hills
Nature fills our hearts in stops and starts
We appreciate the basics without the frills.
We stand together and watch days disappear
Replaced by acquiescence happiness and joy
Quietly shadows steal across the landscape
Unique ingenuity and love we both deploy.
As the evening shadows lengthen
And another day slips quietly on its way
The acquiescence that binds us together
Transports us softly into another day.
It may be the energy when together
That smoothes the waters we row
More so the love and understanding
Pass expectations we both know.
