Being a Stranger
A rewarding retreat
On a crowded street, I roamed
As a stranger, unfamiliar, I preferred
An array of genuine smiles, I figured
A healing charm that sustained!
Whiffs of coffee blasting the air
Burning charcoal, casting its smell
Yellow corn popping up the show!
An approaching cruise, I favoured
The passive watch was a true joy
A gentle dream, I endured
Speedboats flashed, canoes slid
A bird halted and walked beside me
Shared my bench, she looked tired!
The setting Sun just then spilled
Quirkily, he slipped away to hide
My thoughts, I hauled for a while
To embrace those moments, I pray
There, I derived unconditional care!
