Buffalo Monkey Lion and Elephant

Chewing the cud, in dormant poise
The lazy buffalo sleeps while awake

Fed up, the monkey leaps up
Jumping in mad circles before
Settling at his starting point

Furious, the lion roars
Pouncing on all along the way
The ultimate predator hunts in abandon
Until he realizes that he is prey anyways

Patiently, the elephant observes
The lazy buffalo snore
The mad monkey jump
And the limited lion’s roar

Seeing the pointlessness of it all
Dumbo suddenly gets the point
That underlies all the mumbo jumbo…
