My heart out to that soul who wanted to call me mom — submitted for The Lark’s poetry competition — runner-up poem

Long in the past, I found a love
Of a dear heart, I taught at school
Flashed into my class that day
An Angel she was in her teens
Surpassed beauty of that scene
Her curly fringes faired her face
Rowing brown eyes added grace!
