blue is the color of my hair
and my mood is blue
my pants
my blouse
my sweater too
but I woke up and saw
blue skies
and thought blue is just as fine
as the sky and blueberry pie

so I danced down the street
in blue outerwear too
everything I had on was blue
even blue shoes

I said hello to the grocer
who smiled very wide
I asked for blueberries
and brought them outside

the blue fruit snack was delicious
as I wandered down the avenue
my feet started sprinting in fun
for all the trash bins were blue

when I got to the corner
a fellow leaned against the signpost
he had on blue jeans and a blue
overcoat
I shook his hand and then did boast
