Colors Sinking

A sonnet

These leaves with autumn colors float and sink
down to the earth to slowly decompose,
yet sometimes they will stop to have a drink
and briefly float then sink in the shadows.

Submerged awhile, the water’s edge calls out,
leaves glow in soft and sinking golden light,
with reds and yellows, orange colors shout,
so all may…
