Hate that

the something, someone wrong
that leads to confrontation

it’s quite exhausting
irritating
and a little disappointing

the thoughts don’t work as words
too dull and slow
you start to choke

and gagged on
drowning, drowned out speech
that’s damp, all weak and watered

you lose your edge
your voice
and then you splutter something nice?!

there’s also something said for maybe
trying
to be blunt

but you’re just mean and sharp, a bit cutthroat
and end up spitting blood.
