The other side of fear, but not its absence
Courage is an affirmative nobility that grows
From the fodder feed of reptilian fear
A delicate combination of heart and mind
Courage is an inner conviction
To speak truth to power
A spontaneous non-reactivity that responds
Unmindful of the end consequences
Yet it is a supreme intelligence
Bestowed upon the braveheart
Who smolders himself inside where
The other is dissolved into his existence
Hence, it is born from a fiery passion of heart
Where the organism flirts with the being
As the latter lights up the primordial fear
It alchemizes into an emergent courage
While cowardice and brashness play out relentlessly
Courage harmonizes the cosmic play
Delicately seated in that golden middle
Catapulting oneself above the threshold of the drama
Thus, bringing balance to humanity
By turning the wheel of dharma like buddha
Even risking a Kurukshetra like Krishnaa
Courage ensures the continuation of the leela
Born along with gracious acceptance
Courage flings one into the unknown
Where conditioned structures breakdown
Freeing one from the iron strings of fate
As an inexplicable peace takes over
Intelligence takes form as this unmissable virtue
As courage takes that ultimate leap
Into that safest place; the bottomless abyss
I wonder if this is even me?
An egoistic question, I realize
Since the I as me is too limited
To grasp the marvelous I as being
