You tell them a story to be

You tell them what music it be
such a wondrous sound of melancholy due.
An elastic band stretches time
no past, present or future
just the mind
dwelling over a word
that makes no sense.
Just a glimpse
through a window
sunlit bathed.
A melamine curtain
painted upon with
printed flowers.
Here, in a dusty room
the dust particles
float through the air:
as if filtered
seen through a muslin.
The image — blurred and soft
but in essence, reveals all.
No sounds,
shadows cast upon a wooden floor
that revels in age.
It creaks
and groan
with every strain
upon
a footstep placed.
It reveals and retells its life story.
