Fire to Ashes

The glance that turned to passion

The kindling was all ready
For the hypnotic glance
The fire was then started
For its desirous dance.

Fuelled by temptation
And rising from the dust
The raw ignition blazed
Into the arms of lust.

The passion gained momentum
And blazed into the night
Joining lovers together
Until the morning light.

They parted as the dawn came
Lust spent and pleasure done
Then the flaming desire
Turned to ashes in the sun.

Love looked on abandoned
Left with nothing to say
The glance that turned to passion
Had now blown away.

In the heather in the moors
Two lovers hung together
Transfixed and so in love
Not meant for any other.

The magic conversation
And fleeting of each second
Was not accounted for
Factored or even reckoned.

Two smiles complete the magic
Of a man and woman so in love
Totally content with each other
Two hands in a silken glove.

The glance desire and temptation
And the fiery passion and lust
Turned now to a pure love
Never to combust.
