I’m tired of this game of evens
The effort of getting it right
The text you so much later
Since I’ve waited for you all night.

I’m tired of petty revenge
An oft-imagined slight
You spent some time with him
So with her, I play the fight.

It’d take moments to end this feeling
One double text to bridge the gap
But vulnerability is a sin
When hidden feelings nap.

Oh to earn a lover
I wish it were worth the fight
So forget to text
And leave me to read tonight.
