Gleaming Blue Water
is too blue to look at

Water splashing from the pool
The freestyle and butterfly strokes
Flutter kick or playful kick
Swimming for pleasure
Swimming for pressure
The water must leave their home,
I also must leave this blue.
Blue square tiles reflecting the sun
Glossy and garish light
Eye-catching — teary eyes
I should have faced it
But this gleaming blue water
is too much to handle,
too blue to look at.
People on the top of the world
They see blue as only blue
Color of the pool, sea, sky,
or their favorite color
I wish I were them
Gleaming blue water
is only water — splashing out.
