Sun peeked over snow-covered trees on the other side of the frozen lake. Cold, but bright, beams broke the horizon, lighting up the winter landscape.
Bits of green and yellow dotted the snow on the shore of the lake. Crimson patches of ice, connected by dots and splatters, told a gruesome tale of desperation…
