A year went by
2022 was a mixed blight
of harsh and
happy reality
in the dim light
of a gloomy
bright loss of hope.

2022 brought
poets together
in a published book.
The Lark’s passionate
poetry book, titled
Butterfly Dance
A great joy to be
remembered.

2022 saw the loss of
family members
whether unexpected
or in war
the suffering days
from illnesses
so profound.

We need to hope
for less drastic weather
and better times.
A need for strength
to live in harmony
for the year ahead.

May everyone stay positive
and wish for the gifts
of life, health, happiness
and fulfillment
for the forthcoming
year of 2023.
