Heart Strings

A poem

Photo by Jude Beck on Unsplash

The strings of my heart
went pling and pling
nothing disturbed its rhythm
I walked to a bench near a
finely dressed gent
sitting alongside him.

I heard a crunch I thought
was lunch but I’m afraid
it wasn’t
I had sat on a hat
where I was at
and the man yelled,
“you mustn’t.”
