I Feel No Warmth in the Sun

Poetry

Photo by emma valerio on Unsplash

I feel no warmth in this place of sun
I feel troubled despite all of the “fun”
My spirit doesn’t rest as I head east
My mind only grows confused
As my spirit grows weak
I thought it would feel different
But I feel the same
Except I feel now, even less humane
Running away from all the pain
Only reminds me that I’m dying for an escape
But there is no escape
There are only reminders of what I have to face…
