Last of the Summer Light
The weather’s about to change

The sun sits low.
A mid-afternoon-treat,
Its heat defying the crisp air,
Warming me from the outside in.
It speaks to me,
A whisper,
Undetected by others,
As the wisdom of my ancestors,
Guide my eyes and ears.
Generations of living by the sun,
An ancient knowledge.
Watch the light,
Behold the golden beams,
Weak and strong together,
This is the day before the shift.
Enjoy…
