Today everything is about ME!
Meet Me in the Middle
Because I’m at a crossroads
Some of us
give of ourselves unto
others like the Temple
Others loan themselves away
like a church
no windows no doors
a place where anyone
can come strolling in
Still, in our effort to be better
we need to be transparent
If for no other
then for ourselves
becoming the priority
not the charity
And in our honesty
we could neither
be Temple nor Church
having walked closer
to the devil
than that of the Angel
in whom we've lived
our disguised lives
Some cherish life
in its silence
no windows no doors
walking in the comfort of night
than to be in the inquisition of light
Though carefully crafted
our thirst for momentary fame
will always betray
the privacy we so desperately claim
And tomorrow
when ends
the night
SHORT
in its joy
LONG
in its darkness
The faces that greet us
may never again
be the faces that please us
and your God may refuse to see us
but our spiritual guardians
will never deny us
thus we’re saved
