Only Our Eyes Can Lock

A poem — when a dashing stranger can only be a passing stranger

Our eyes locked
In his sweet tempting dark gaze, there is a world unknown
A story I’m craving to explore
A small window to a soul I desire to know
Yet, destiny’s cruel decree
Forbids a love between us to be
Because for no particular reason
We break our powerful ocular embrace
Continue to walk our separate ways
Not looking back
We solidify our destiny
No chance of becoming lovers
Just passing strangers
who met too late
Only our eyes can lock
Never our fate
