Plum Tree
A poem

all winter long
the plum tree held fast
to a single fruit
through summer heat
and winter storms
it never snapped or fell
past ripe,
past gone,
now brown and shrunken,
like a nut-hard raisin —
all winter long
the plum tree held fast
to a single fruit
through summer heat
and winter storms
it never snapped or fell
past ripe,
past gone,
now brown and shrunken,
like a nut-hard raisin —
