Reach for the Stars

A poem about the stars and what we see there

Reach for the stars
they twinkle with
lights, shining
upon us
in the dark
of night.

Near and far
they shine bright.

Falling stars
rain down,
sprinkling a
flashing happiness
upon unhappy,
sad, sorrowful souls.

Another twinkling star
blossoms from afar,
falling slowly
into saddening,
hearts
comforting them
consoling them.

Sometimes a star
shoots past me
glistening gallantly
like a brave
soulful soul.

Then the news
loud and clear
‘Gone so quick from us’
never to
be sighted again.
