I was the prettiest plant in her garden.
I was above all plants,
She put me on a pedestal.
She watered me when I was thirsty.
She used to stare at me in awe.
I was happy…

Now, in the shadows I live.
Insects feast on my leaves.
In the pedestal, lies an orchid;
The prettiest of them all.
Her new favorite flower.

My roots are rotting
And my leaves drying.
I am nothing to her anymore,
I am slowly dying.
