A child, a very hungry boy, stares at the food stalls on the opposite road. People are swarming the place, buying food for the celebrations to usher in a bountiful harvest later in the evening. His excitement is interrupted by a whiff of something that triggers his saliva glands. His hunger returns and he hears his stomach growl, so loud it reminds him of a fierce mongrel.
