Sleepless nights
wax accumulates in my eyes
burning through the night
one by one, in beads fall
until wax withers away
I had thought my pain
would melt away,
but it lingers on,
ignited,
empty, it still sustains,
unbraiding, I had thought
let go,
stubbornly they stood by
unlocking them in vain
drowning in pain
morn’ came with a golden hue
the dew has to evaporate
the tears withered away
laws of nature they abide
but stubborn, my pain,
it thrives
however dark the night,
the tunnel never seems to end
however long it spans
it never leaves my side
obstinate, a stubborn child
nobody can be blamed,
I pampered it all along!
