secular sacrilege to slow or pause
irreverent is the soul who dares
a blasphemer of society’s laws
wicked to breathe, defiles beyond repair

repose bears the dark stain of indolence
stillness betrayed by a bright crimson rune
a moment of respite, vile insolence
presence: societal mores, impugned

from the womb organizing our own tomb
taboo to seek a trice of contentment
the virtuous void the now, bolt to doom
vile contemplation met with resentment

evading fulfillment surely occurs
lacuna of joy is all speed confers
