Locked behind strong walls
to keep you safe
it’s reassuring
knowing your fate

No need to venture
into new light
the same old routine
set in your sights

But time will wear down
your plans dispersed
past strategies
will stop to work

Seeing cracks of stone
no longer paused
crumbling fast
momentum falls

The longer you wait
to accept change
the harder it is
to leave your cage

Keep your eyes open
you are not trapped
there’s always a way
if you adapt
