I saw a small, exquisite splash
Of sunlight melting through
It formed a unique mosaic
Bright confident and true.

Filtered through the forest leaves
And verdant shades of green
Painted on a tiny fern
A beautiful silkscreen.

Sparkling with luminosity
Beckoning to be seen
Picked out by my discerning eye
The leader of the scene.

Sunlight leaves her signature
On canvases of color
Shining on a summer day
Gray days muted and duller.

Encapsulating beauty
Beaming with sparkling light
Both my eye and senses
Are filled with pure delight.

What a weird and wonderful world
Too much taken for granted
A visa on a short visit
A splash of sunlight painted.

Each day in the great outdoors
Sunlight translates to gold
Leaving her unique signatures
On vistas in her fold.
