The Ancient Concord
Sonnet II
The clouds o’er the trees arise sublime,
bred life through blood shed oft this time of year;
Obtained through this concord still kept through time,
agreed to be repaid renewed and clear;
Cyclic nature bereft of loss and gain,
does not concern itself with whims so rife;
The selfish acts of man too inhumane,
serve not the greater good of primal life;
Giveth and take and share in all the wealth,
first climb then fall and heal the middlemen;
The chain ensures well-being and the health,
of all who let the rounds repeat again;
Lessons in life oft not be touched or seen,
but pondered fierce till we grasp what it means.
