Dandelions Above the Creek Bed

The brightest flowers don’t always grow in a garden

The dandelions above the creek bed
just past the gravel mound
not far from the tool shed
close to the tree line
may not be
the most beautiful things
to see today
or any day
unless by beauty you mean
that which grows
and blooms
and flowers
and waves
and wilts
and waits
and dies.
