The Guile King
Poetry
A palace
A king
And a beautiful queen,
happy, blissful and content;
she thought she reigned the world,
below the canopy of the king’s love!
One day as she indiscreetly strolled the palace,
singing along with the vagabond breeze;
she tipped over a hole,
hidden beneath a stone;
covered with silken hay;
she was startled to find a tunnel below.
She knew there was a secret hideout;
the hole was about to wreck her whole world,
the tunnel was too long and pitch dark;
she walked blindfolded and tongue-tied her mouth:
she apprehended some secrets locked in there.
When she opened her eyes, she was baffled and heart-sore
her eyes stuck to see a harem, hiding behind the wall
a harem of nubile wives,
young girls and beautiful maids and
concubines playing around.
Lounged together,
they were subjugated by the merciless king,
serving the polygamous king secretly,
the king found in there a niche for himself;
playing around with his favourite toy,
picking them like pebbles off the ground.
Below her eyes, she was belied,
unknown to the queen;
who was madly in love,
thunderbolt stuck her heart
but her mind raced like a horse.
Action, Action she wants,
harm and betray, could she swallow it today?
‘No’, came the answer from her inner soul.
She pulls out the sword,
puts on a mask,
and called the king by his name!
Taken aback the king asked his soldiers to march,
he failed to recognize her frail silhouette
who could enter the fort of iron walls?
She thundered like an angry cloud
accompanied her was the lightening sky
and immediately he recognized her voice
She was the queen of his heart
rumbling like a thundering cloud.
He knelt before her,
forgiveness he sought;
no mercy she announced.
Betrayal she could not handle,
she rode the horse
ran the palace, like a wounded tigress
and killed the king from the synapse of her mind!
The king shall not be forgiven,
the harem chorused along.
Unanimous they sung
Women don’t swallow the betrayal pill easily, as he thought;
they are not gems of his crown.
Without a sword, the king was killed
and the downfall of his empire began!
