The last tiger paces
in a forest of memory,
its stripes fading
like old photographs
while we watch
from behind our screens
Coral reefs bleach white
graveyards of vibrant life
Oceans warming degree by degree
as we debate and deny
the evidence washing up
on our shrinking shores
How many species slip away
while we aren’t looking?
Their names becoming footnotes
in biology textbooks
their habitats transformed
into monuments of progress
