Cancer,
the thief of life,
crawls upwards,
causing strife
like no other disease
it pulls us down
deeper and deeper
a hell-grounded sign.

It takes hold
with a vicious grip,
leaving behind
chronic ailments,
energy dipping
until we
need a kip.

The agony,
it sears the soul,
a fire that burns
beyond control
leaving us dense
a tolerance
not to be endured.

A constant ache
that won’t subside,
A never-ending,
torturous ride.

It spreads like wildfire
in the night,
consuming all
with an endless might.
