The Lark

The Settled Soul

A poem — The Lark’s poetry competition

A shimmering wind
Bursting with life-form energy
Blade disc eyes
Rest upon the leaves
Giving momentary peace
As the east blue sky magnet welcomes us
With brilliance
And the meeting of the vulnerable thinking heart
See natures numbers
Counting summer air breezes
With ash pockets
Lining the weathered grass
That stands tall
Almost posturing
Amongst the million sun rays…
