Tricks of Time

A man-made delusion

Time is an illusion
A figment of the mind
A man-made delusion
To keep us in a bind.

Imagine the liberation
Without overt control
No waiting at the station
Taking a leisurely stroll.

Tenuous tricks of time
Dictating every day
No longer it’s a crime
To have a timeless stay.

How long is a second
A minute or a year
Have you ever reckoned
Life is ruled by fear.

Moments spent with nature
In the rhythm of our being
Not governed by behavior
Loosening up and freeing.

Caught up in a daydream
Or flights of fancy reveries
Discounting all per diem
And enjoy life’s treasuries.

Retire from the mayhem
Of time being the master
And finally, say amen
To the next man-made disaster.
