Last year was very productive for Cyberian Mine. Not only did we work hard on developing the business but we also kept busy learning and being on top of market trends, connecting with different like-minded people in the space and welcoming potential customers to visit us either in Berlin or Siberia.

Working towards being the #lastminestanding, however, requires constant updating, so we thought we’d share some of the other events we will be attending in the next few months — so that if you are thinking about hosting your machines in our renewable hydropower facilities you can take the opportunity to meet us in person. Until then, you can already check our preinstalled machines online.

But first… let’s start with a retrospective

Berlin Blockchain Week (September 2018) was intense: numerous encounters that led to after parties, as we spent the days in meetings with potential VC investors and new clients. As well as some time updating our website and starting negotiations with some of the Chinese ASIC manufacturers to reduce costs, improve delivery times and in general do everything we can to make mining more profitable for our clients.

World Digital Mining Summit: Sep 21–23, 2018
Tbilisi, Georgia

After warming up in Berlin, we flew all the way to the World Digital Mining Summit, in Georgia. Or as most people called it: the #miningconf.

Back then, it was the biggest conference, and maybe the first ever, dedicated specifically to cryptocurrency mining.

WDMS 2018: “Mo money. Mo problems.”

It was created in a joint effort of Bitmain and Bitkan, partnering with the Georgian government. It attracted over 1000 attendees with speakers from some of the biggest mining companies in the world, manufacturers and service providers in the mining industry.

As it was put together by Bitmain, you are right to imagine it was a pretty Bitmain heavy affair. Roger Ver and Jihan Wu were two of the headline speakers and they announced the launch of the then new ASIC chip BM1391 for mining cryptocurrencies using the SHA256 algorithm.

We connected with potential partners in the mining space, and also made sure we are ready to place an order on any new tech that would make mining for our clients in Siberia even more efficient.

Smart&Green on Stage: Oct 17–18, 2018
Berlin, Germany

Next on our agenda was the Smart&Green event at the EUREF campus in Berlin.

Smart&Green is an international event bringing together innovative startups and strategic investors in the renewable energy sector.

EUREF Campus

Companies and researchers share insights on climate change and economic trends connected to more responsible energy use.

It was the perfect place to showcase our green credentials — and we were given an 8-minute slot to present Cyberian Mine to the audience.

We made connections with energy providers and other organizations to connect us with renewable and waste energy sources in Europe.

With PoW currently being the only stable consensus model for decentralized systems, it is still important that miners seek the most environmentally safe sources for their energy consumption.

At the event, we announced our Series A valuation and invited serious players to take equity in operation.

TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin: Nov 28–30, 2018
Berlin, Germany

We also got ourselves a booth at Disrupt Berlin, the biggest Startup event in Germany last year.

In their own words, “at Disrupt, everyone is a startupper — no matter if you’re a founder, investor, hacker or tech leader. So much more than just on-stage interviews, Disrupt is where you’ll find the renowned Startup Battlefield competition, hundreds of startups in Startup Alley, Workshops and legendary networking at our After Parties… and we’re in Berlin, right where many startup dreams begin.”

It was the third time that TechCrunch brought this event to Berlin and we were there soaking up the atmosphere and making new connections.

We made some excellent connections at the event. We had a good conversation with the community manager of Bitwala, just months before they launched to the public, and several VCs and Angels expressed interest in our equity offering.

Where will we be in the next few months

In 2019, we continued to absorb all the knowledge we could and make more connections with relevant players in the business. The year, however, is not over and we still have some more events to go to!

Mining Disrupt Conference, July 24th, 2019
Miami, United States of America

This year, Ramus Højland will be representing Cyberian Mine in our own booth at the Mining Disrupt Conference in Miami. You can learn more about him on our blog.

The event expects to welcome more than 1000 top experts, influencers and strategists from across the globe, and will be a great opportunity to disclose Cyberian Mine to a highly connected audience, as Rasmus will also be one of the featured lecturers.

We expect to be in the center of a game-changing conference that will bring together the business participants that are shaping the industry’s future.

Come say hello and learn more about how Cyberian Mine plans to be the #lastminestanding.

World Digital Mining Summit, Oct 9–10, 2019
Frankfurt, Germany

This year, the largest annual digital mining event will be hosted close to our headquarters in Berlin, and our presence is guaranteed!

This two-day mining summit is focused on showcasing the latest industry insights, allowing us to do high-class networking and exchange knowledge with experts in the field. The event is back after its successful run in 2018, and now it’s back to discuss the future of mining and blockchain.

Once more, the featured lecturers are heavy-weight players who will share with us their inputs on the future of mining, and what are the expectations for the halfing coming up next year. Organized by Bitmain, the event will have Jihan Wu’s keynote speech, alongside John Ge and Jason (CEOs from Matrixport and BTC.com, respectively).

Exciting news are about to come, and we will be a part of it. Let’s meet in Frankfurt and talk about the future of Bitcoin mining!
