We’ve all been there. Someone you emailed introduces you to someone else, and they want to talk, but there is one issue: the new contact isn’t in Salesforce.

Here’s a quick way to setup your sales stack so the next time this happens, you won’t have to copy and paste lead info into Salesforce again.

1. Download Rapportive, and hover over an email address.

I’m guessing if you are smart enough to read this blog, you probably know what Rapportive does. If you don’t here’s the deal.

Rapportive is a free tool that is owned by Linkedin.

Rapportive takes emails you have in your inbox, and as you hover over them, they’ll find any social accounts associated with that email. Most of the time, they’ll have their Linkedin at least. You may be able to find a Twitter account or Google Plus, but that’s useless for this blog post so…

I hover over our wonderful and fearless leader, Mei Siauw’s email, and her Linkedin profile will populate on the right.

2. Download LeadIQ

LeadIQ is Chrome extension that not only helps you find and verify leads’ email addresses and various contact info, but also pull leads right into Salesforce.

How do you not LeadIQ yet? Come on…this is a quick video showing it in action and how it works.

Download LeadIQ, login on the LeadIQ website, and at the bottom of the page, you’ll see where you can link your Salesforce account. Sync those up!

You’ll just need to decide if you want these people importing as contacts or leads after you sync.

3. Visit the new contact’s Linkedin

When Rapportive populates their profile, click on the “Linkedin” text or logo, and it’ll jump you right to their Linkedin profile.

This is what will come up to the right of your inbox if you hover an email address that is associated with a Linkedin account.
You’re at their Linkedin profile now.

4. Hit the LeadIQ button to the right of the address bar when you visit the page!

This is what the button looks like:

You should have this button on your web browser.

You should see your contact populated in the LeadIQ window. If not, just refresh the page, and it’ll populate.

Hit the + sign or “+ All” and it’ll be in Salesforce! You did it!

If Arnold is happy, you’re happy!

Bonus Tip

If for some reason the email address LeadIQ picks up is a different email address that the email you received, I like using a service like Ebsta to sync my inbound email with the LeadIQ import address. Their gmail extensions makes this really easy, and it’s free too!

Just download their plugin, and you can manually relate any email to a lead put in from LeadIQ.

Ebsta takes less than a minute to setup. They allow you to add inbound and outbound emails to Salesforce, and search for Salesforce contacts, leads, and accounts right from your inbox.

Happy hunting and good luck!
