A beautiful work of art made with Microsoft Excell. The artist makes these one cell at a time.

I recently saw a post on HackerNews about a 73-year-old man who makes art out of Excel spreadsheets. His talent is incredible. He literally makes these one cell at a time.

As a founder of a startup, I work in spreadsheets all time. Whether I’m putting together some numbers for investors, finding contacts for prospects, or checking out our pipeline, I can really appreciate this art.

I’ve talked with a lot of Sales Development Reps, Accounts Reps, and Business Development Managers to try and find the best way to build email prospecting list, and after my co-founder Angelo and I did more digging, we realized the sales development process can be better.

As a sales rep, you all deserve to be able to perform better.

It all starts with an email.

Time and time again, companies are built on this statement. What you are doing with spreadsheets, emails, and your CRM, though not as pretty, is art.

Each cell you fill up with data is building something different than these paintings; you’re building up revenue for your company. Your art is efficiency. Your creativity is how you build pipeline with this information.

Each cell you fill up with data is building something different than these paintings; you’re painting your company’s future.

So today, while I know you all work off prospecting lists, data in your CRM, and inbound leads, I thought I’d explain the art of finding prospect’s email in under 5 clicks.

Here’s is how you can build prospect lists, or find anyone’s email in just under 5 clicks:

Click 1: Install Our Chrome Extension

I’m going to assume most of you are using Google Chrome at this point. LeadIQ is a free chrome extension that does some backend stuff to guess prospect’s email addresses. It works best for work emails vs. personal. Start by downloading the extension. I setup a referral code so you get 25 free emails.

Click 2: Link to Your Google Apps or Gmail, and Your Google Drive Account

Being a small startup, you can either have leads go right into Google Sheets, our in-house web app spreadsheet, or into Salesforce.

Doing so will import leads or contacts you right into Salesforce, and it’ll even check for duplicates. If you use Salesforce, it’ll take one more click, but you can link LeadIQ right up into Salesforce as well from the LeadIQ website.

This will be near the bottom of our website after you login.

Click 3: Search on Linkedin

I promised this would only take 5 clicks. I’m not counting going to Linkedin.

Once installed and linked to your Google Accounts, LeadIQ automatically keeps track of the profiles you browse on Linkedin.

So you have two options. You can either build a prospect list via searching for a title on Linkedin, or you can find and visit a specific person’s Linkedin profile.

Click 4: Hit the LeadIQ Button

You should see an IQ button on the upper right hand corner. Click on it and it’ll open LeadIQ. Notice any of the faces? That’s your Linkedin browsing history. It’ll populate as you do Linkedin searches, and as your go to individuals’ profiles. Pretty cool right?

As you look at profile and search results, we’ll setup a queue of leads for you to import. You can import them all, or one by one.

Click 5: Hit the “Capture Profile” Button

The capture profile button does a few things. First and foremost, it’ll attempt to find the prospect’s email for you. Then it sends it to some servers that verify if the email address is accurate.

So now that you’ve captured emails, if you want to see them, just hit the VIEW Button.

After you hit the view button, you’ll be able to check out the leads in your Google Drive, saved as a spreadsheet, or you can check your Salesforce account.

And that is how it’s done. If you want to try it out for a month for free, signup and use the promo code: IAMANARTIST

Happy hunting.
