AMV Holds Petition Mass For May 2023 CPA Hopefuls

The University of Santo Tomas — Alfredo M. Velayo (UST-AMV) College of Accountancy held a Petition Mass for its alumni who will take the May 2023 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA) alongside the first Friday Mass for the college on the fourth week of Easter, May 5, 2023, at the UST Santísimo Rosario Parish.
In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Franklin Beltran, O.P., emphasized the importance of faith in life by relating the story of the Apostle Thomas’s doubts about Christ’s resurrection.
“Like Thomas, our lives are sometimes filled with moments of doubt, and our hearts are troubled. It is then that our faith in Christ can show us the way. Our faith brings forth the bright shining light of truth and hope,” he said.
Beltran also related the life of St. Vincent Ferrer, a revered Valencian Dominican friar who performed miracles and preached in Italy, Spain, and France to spread the word of God.
At the end of the mass, UST-AMV College Secretary Mr. Fermin Yabut thanked Fr. Beltran for blessing the CPA hopefuls on behalf of the college’s administrators, instructors, staff, and students.
Along with wishing them well, he reassured them that they could always turn to the college for help, regardless of their exam results, and encouraged them to have faith in their hard work and industry.
The special Mass dedication was a strong reminder of the importance of faith, hope, and upliftment in their success. The institution’s support for its students underscores its commitment to a heritage of greatness in the accountancy profession.
