The University of Santo Tomas–Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy organized its annual petition mass on May 10 at the UST Santísimo Rosario Parish to bless the alumni who are set to take the 2024 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Examination, and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Examination.

The mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Franklin Beltran, O.P., PhD, the college regent, with the presence of Asst. Prof. Francisco M. Caliwan, Jr., Assistant Dean of the college, and professors.

Fr. Beltran’s homily highlighted how even the most challenged can seek success while remaining hopeful and grateful to God.

“Never forget to be grateful and thankful to God. Gratitude to God is the surest way of drawing God into our hearts,” Fr. Beltran said.

Meanwhile, Assistant Dean Caliwan, on behalf of the administration, academic staff, support staff, and students of UST-AMV COA, extended his advance congratulations to the hopeful examinees, for he was assured that they would all be successful.

“We are praying that you will pass and that you will receive your certification this May 2024. Magiging licensed professionals kayo this 2024! Let’s claim it!” he claimed.

‘Pray and remember Him’ is the phrase emphasized throughout the mass by Fr. Beltran and Assistant Dean Caliwan as they reminded the examinees to believe in the power of prayer and be constantly grateful for all God has provided.

After the mass, the takers of the CPA, CMA, and CISA examinations from the UST-AMV COA gathered around for pictures and had their pencils sharpened by the attending professors of the college.

Assistant Dean Caliwan also thanked the UST Pax Romana Accountancy Unit, UST Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UST-JPIA), UST Society of Business Managerial Accountants (UST-SBMA), UST Accounting Information System Society (UST-AISSOC), and the UST-AMV Accountancy Alumni Association for their efforts in making the event possible.
