“Man in the High Castle,” Amazon Video

Hungover yesterday, I plowed through all 10 episodes of Man in the High Castle, only intermittently pausing to order pizza or pop aspirin. The show perfectly matches the event of drinking — that first episode, celebratory and rose-colored, but it is quickly followed by the sleepy episodes, muddled and blurry. And then you awake to an incapacitating hangover — shaggy around the edges, and dear god, so much longer than it should be. At least you have the memory of a good night (the pilot) — most of it, you still remember.

Beware the binge.
