The argument goes like this: The mere act of tracking what you eat and how often you exercise causes healthier behavior. FitBit is essentially a game of observational bias. Harder, faster, better, stronger — with data.

THE LEDGER, my media tracking project, now approaching a two month birthday, is testing the same principle applied to content consumption: Can the media equivalent of “stepping on a scale” lead to a trimmed media diet?

So far, the answer seems an unequivocal no. I have somehow watched six movies this week. Here they are, along with everything else gobbled up; recommended items, in bold:
