Two doors

You are in bi-directional purgatory, America. Unlike the purgatory described in Catholic doctrines, you may have either a positive exit or an extremely negative one.

You are trapped, alone in this place where your choice will seal your fate.

But you won’t be there for long.

There are two doors out of the sealed room, one on the left and one on the right. They appear exactly the same.

One of the doors leads to continued democracy. The other leads to a fascist dictatorship.

You must choose one of the doors. But you don’t know which is which.

The room is featureless except for a touch screen on a pedestal in front of you. One portion is in communication with the current president. The other is in communication with the previous president. But you don’t know which side is connected to which president.

You can type in questions, and both presidents will answer with a single word. You can ask any question you like to help you select the exit door and they will both respond.

Ask wisely, America. You do not have long until you must choose one of the doors and seal your fate.

So what question should you ask?

Presidential Question Pad by the author

“Which door will the other president tell me to take?”

The current president will tell you that the former president will tell you to take the door that leads to a fascist dictatorship.

The former president knows that the current president will tell you to take the door to continued democracy, but since he always lies, he will tell you that the current president will say you should take the door to a fascist dictatorship.

Both presidents will tell you that the other president will say to take the door to a fascist dictatorship.

So please, America, ask the proper question and take the other door.
