6 things you need to know when choosing healthcare
Perhaps you are in open enrollment for healthcare and need to make choices affecting your family鈥檚 health and financial future by selecting your healthcare plan. In the US, we have employer driven healthcare or the Healthcare Exchange (Obamacare).
Due to job loss circumstances beyond my control, I鈥檝e had to look for healthcare three times in the past year. It seems that鈥檚 all I鈥檝e done for 2024. You would think this would be simple; find a plan, sign up for the plan and be done.
Finding healthcare in this country is anything but simple or adequate. Entering the healthcare exchanges website is confusing and needlessly obtuse. You would think the state would utilize this website to consolidate information for consumers. Maybe offer a checklist of what to look for in a health insurance plan? You鈥檇 think they could make this site user-friendly for the majority of citizens who don鈥檛 have a healthcare or insurance background.
You think the plans would be on the front page, easy to access, but no. You have to hunt for them. Find them once, and see if you can locate them again the next time.
