If You Want to Dump Biden
Then read this, or you’re no better than the opposition!
It isn’t every day that I strongly recommend something written on another site, but the man who writes for this one is well known and damn smart. I don’t always read his work on HIS site, because he has two Facebook accounts he writes for, one for his photography (which is great natural stuff) and one for himself, so I read him there.
But at times he writes something important and he gets . . . angry. And that anger causes him to write things Facebook, as you know, will not allow. So, he just posts a link and mentions the subject.
His subject today is, you guessed it, the brouhaha over wanting to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate for President. So, before I get started, here’s the link to his latest article on his site called Stonekettle Station:
So, are ya back? I’d like you to read that first, because his remarks, frankly, are more informed than mine.
So, he goes on, but the first real question he asks is this:
Yeah, let’s just shoot the guy driving the train. Good idea, right?
So, tell me, what’s the plan?
What’s the plan after we shoot the engineer and toss him over the side?
For a very long time, I’ve criticized the Conservatives and the GOP for their too-often failures to “think things through”. Like this SCOTUS decision making the President a king. What if a DEMOCRATIC President uses that, in however a minor way, to stop their ongoing insurrection? They’re screwed, right? Did they think that might happen? Not in a New York second. And ya know what? THIS ONE TIME, they were right.
He won’t.
And the whole bunch of you think that taking the man now in charge, the one who has the character and the strength of mind to stand up in from of the country and DENY the very powers that could win it for us, and dump his ass off the train?
Stupid. Now it’s YOU who aren’t “thinking things through”. And I HATE watching Democrats make the same stupid mistakes the GOP does, because we’re mostly smarter than that. We just ain’t got the balls, mostly.
Now, for a long time, I’ve noted the clear logic of how Trump just cannot have the numbers to win, regardless of what the pollsters want you to think — or the NYT or the Washington Post. Why?
Because RIGHT NOW, he and those pollsters, and even the mainstream media, ARE WORKING TO DIVIDE US. They are working overtime to convince you to do what Jim Wright is warning you NOT to do!
Folks, we’re on a runaway train, barreling through the wasteland, chased by mutants, ass backwards into the unknown. This isn’t the time to throw the Engineer over the side. Yes, in this metaphor, Max was without doubt the far better driver and Pigkiller was crippled by a hole blown through his thigh. But you don’t change the hand on the wheel in the middle of an escape and you need to remember that when it was all going to hell and they were neck deep in manure, it was Pigkiller who fired up the engine and got them all the hell out of bondage. No, this isn’t the time to replace the Engineer. This is the time when you grit your teeth, put the hammer down all the way to the goddamn floor, cock your pistol, and ride full throttle for the horizon.
Biden may or may not win. That’s up to you.
But you pull Biden off the ballot now, and Trump most certainly will.
But the most important thing Jim is pointing out is this, in between the two quotes I’ve already shown you:
As I noted up above, there is no national campaign for any other candidate. You’ll have to create one from scratch, overnight, in fifty states. It’s not just a matter of changing the names, there are legal aspects to it. Campaign finance law for one. Campaign filings with the state, ballot issues, and so on. And not every campaign staffer who supports Biden is going to support the new candidate — for whatever reason. So you’re going to need to hire at least some new people.
Where are you going to get the money?
No. No. Don’t look away. Don’t roll your eyes. Where you gonna get the money?
See, while it’s possible that Biden’s campaign war chest, those millions and millions of dollars, could be legally transferred to Harris, because she’s already on the ticket with him, it’s never been done before. There will most certainly be legal challenges — by the Trump campaign if not various Democrats — tying up that money for some period of time, maybe a long period of time.
You see, a few folks have mentioned that four months isn’t enough time. And a bunch of you have scoffed.
But really, nobody mentioned WHY there’s not enough time, and Jim just took the lipstick off that pig.
Frankly, that’s why the Republicans were DELIGHTED to do this now, after the debate, because for them, the timing is PERFECT, because most of you don’t understand why it’s too late.
BUT a lot of their top people DO.
So, I’m going to remind you — AGAIN — why it does not matter whether Biden is at the top of his life’s game or not.
Because it’s the PARTY he heads that we want to gain power. And, folks, not just a slim barely holdable majority, either. That will merely keep dragging this out forever, into the next election, and the next, and so forth. Because then you’ll get sick and tired of the drama and the insanity will become “normal”, and you’ll one day shrug your shoulders and stay home, and that’ll be the last election you’ll ever partake in with any meaning.
So, unless you’ve a good solid plan for how to overcome the hurtles and the roadblocks the Red States are gonna toss your way (and they WILL), then sit down and shut up, and keep supporting Biden and the Democratic Party, which is the ONLY Party in these “United” States dedicated right now to defending our democracy — as damaged as it may be, it beats the alternatives.
Every damn one.
Especially the one the Heritage Foundation is telling us they’ll do with their Project 2025. Trust me, when your opponent tells you who they are and what they want?
