Jimmy Kimmel Monologue
As I was saying before I was interrupted
โIโm so happy to be here with you tonight,โ says tearful Jimmy Kimmel.
History is often made by a speech or sometimes a passionate expression. Sometimes a young Rodney King, who became a firestorm, appears on camera and says, โCan we all just get along??โ Sometimes, itโs made quietly as a humble comedian returns to his show.
โThe government cannot be allowed to control what we do and what we say or not say on television. And I have to stand up to it,โ Jimmy Kimmel.
Sometimes standing up becomes bigger than he imagined as he receives multiple standing ovations from the studio audience and millions of Americans watching on television. Tonight Jimmy Kimmel Live made history as Kimmel stood on his platform to embrace American values of nonviolence and the freedom of speech.
Kimmel was greeted with an enthusiastic ovation as he fought back tears, knowing the audience support was behind him as he returned to the airwaves on ABC after being silenced last week.
