ELECTION-POLITICS
My Voice Was in the Cabinet
What if I die tomorrow?
I was in the last chaos of getting ready for vacation, the pets, the house, cleaning out the fridge and collecting all the documents we needed. As I lay in bed, thinking about all the things I needed to do before we left early in the morning, I realized I had received my election ballot. I had put it in the cabinet for safety. To ensure nothing was spilled on it.
There was no way I was going to get it filled out before I left. When I vote, I research every candidate on the ballot, to know who they are. I often look into the issues and read what the background is on each. It usually takes a half hour, time well spent every two years.
Choosing who to vote for in the presidential race was a no-brainer. It was either the intelligent woman who promises help for the middle class or the doddering old fool who talks about penis size, Hannibal Lector, sharks or dances for his last-ditch effort with voters. The one who is using his rich friends to literally pay-off voters because the candidate is deteriorating before our eyes.
The other races, not so easy. Our candidate for Representative has been doing very shady development deals and I am not happy with his record. Do I want to fund the bond projects which are on the ballot each time…
